Weekend Tathra

Hey everyone,

Make your self comfortable you be here a wile, have a lot to tell.

we had a great weekend, we went with Renee to her fathers (Rik) place for the weekend in Tathra. He has 2 caravans there, and a boat.

We left Friday evening at 19h00 instead of 17h00 because Renee had a lot of work to be finished so it happens. we enjoyed a nice pint in the meantime.
We had a 7h drive a head of so of we went. Had dinner in KFC witch is not great wont go there again. What was great was that we saw kangaroo's and a wombat and possums and an owl that nearly hit the car.It was a great drive trough forrests didnt see much because it was dark but it had a great feeling to it.
We forgot to get petrol but just managed to make it there. Had a few scary moments doh.
We arrived at 2h30am all very tired but exited to be there. Fair play to Renee to do all the driving.
we all went quick to bed. But i enjoyed a wile looking at the stars and enjoying the peace and quiet. amazing....


Got up at 7 the next mornig to go fissing with Rik. It was beuatifull. Straight away there were dolfins jumpin up and down next to the boat, the great open ocean in front of us. (have a look at the pics at the bottom of this post).

We then started fissing, got a "red snapper" and a "flathead" straight away.
in total i got 7 fish and we all got 17 fish. nice catch. Wile we were fissing we saw seals and pinguins and then we heard this great sound of a wale blowing air, can not discribe the feeling, unreal. we all looked around and saw them 30 meters away i think. There were 2 of them.
Rik powerd up the boat and got us a bit closer, it was brilliant to see them. My haer is standing up again and have chickenskin as i am wrinintg this.

after 4 a 5hours we came back in got the boat out of the Water and had to clean the fisch. There was a great welcoming party of pelicans and seagals and can't remeber the name of the black birds you'll see them on the pics. waiting for the left overs.

Went back to the caravan park and to our suprise there were roo's resting in the shade under the trees 10m for the caravan. brilliant. there is are guanas aswel but we didnt see them.

Dicided to go for dinner at the Tathra pier, realy great ferch food, and excelent few of the beach. you have to be there to see it.

After the meal went to the look out point were the views were even more stunnig, there was a wedding on. Its the cemetary to wich makes you think but all the same magnifecent.

Then we enjoyed a wel earned siesta, got up around 6pm cooked a meal of the fresh cought fich and enjoyed beers and sparkeling wine.
Wile we were enjoying all this a few possums diceded to come and have a stroll over and check us out and wonderd by 2m from us. realy great to see and experience all this.

Got up again the next day at 7 to go fissing, and there were a load of dolfins they are beuatifull and playfull and lovely to see. cought arount 27 fish sunday. and a few nice one "gurner" called with butterfly wings and paws. Rik got a calamairi.
I got a dangerous one that Rik trew back in the sea before it could harm anyone. a flathead stong me and that was painfull for nearly an our.

when we got back to shore the same welcomeing crew waited for us. we cleanded the fish and i had a pic taken with an other fishermans gummy shark.

When got to the caravan prepared a nice meal with the calamari and other fish. and at 2pm we left for melbourne.

I drove for few ours the first time with an automatic, and stuggeld a bit. Met the cops at a acohol control post and braked with my left foot looking for the clutch, they thought i had a good few to drinkhad to blow and show licence and had to explane what happend. but got to drive on with the words" try and be a bit more carefull".

so i did and it went ok from there. got home around 9pm and went to bed Liselot had to start work the next day.

had a time to never forget and only here 4 weeks. loving it.
